Drawing and painting has always been a way of life for me. As a child, I discovered my Grandmothers' oil pastels (she was also an artist!) and have been creating art ever since! I enjoy working with many mediums, but my main interest is pastels and acrylics. My images are bold, with lots of color and contrast, combined with a strong light source. I feel the need to have my work "jump" off the page! I love the challenge of making something look three-dimensional on a two-dimensional surface.

I paint what I enjoy, and inspiration comes to me in many forms. I am particularly drawn to painting any kind of floral and garden theme. Many of my paintings are inspired from my own gardens and landscapes designs.  I also enjoy still life, wildlife and pet portraiture.

I've always known that art would be my career choice. I took art classes all through high school, combined with private lessons. From there I recieved formal training at the Cleveland Institute of Art, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration and painting. From my home studio I freelance and teach private and small group art lessons. It gives me great satisfaction watching students with genuine passion and dedication, grow and develop their talent! Please check out the "student gallery" page to view their work.

My goal as an artist, is to invite the viewer to see that despite turmoil in this world, there is beauty, light and happiness to be enjoyed! Thankyou for taking the time to view my site!
